DynDNS: Wildcard No More

I have used DynDNS free service for quite sometimes to have my home and development server hostnames for free. DynDNS allows you to have subdomains for free out of domains that they provide, such as selfip.com, selfip.org, selfip.net, etc, and you and up to have a subdomain such as: xandertan.selfip.com, and again… for free.

Not so long ago the company also provided a feature for the subdomain to have a wildcard, allowing you to have a sub-subdomain for your server, for instance, apache.xandertan.selfip.com, db.xandertan.selfip.com and so on. Unfortunately, this service is not there anymore, unless you purchase the Dynamic DNS Pro package.

This is what you get if you click on the wildcard option for your hostname.

Nothing to worry about! Look at that! The wildcard option is included in the Dynamic DNS Pro package for only 15$ per year. This is great! But let me stick to my current free service to keep my money.
