I found Microsoft Word 2008 default font and paragraph was very distracting and decided to look for a permanent way to change this default setting into ‘Times New Roman’ and ’0 pt paragraph’. Look for the following guidelines on how to do it:
- Open Microsoft Word 2008; do not do anything
- (Only if you can’t see the Formatting Palette) Click the Toolbox item in the menu
- Expand the Styles menu
- Hover your cursor over the box that says ‘Normal’, showing a blue down-arrow on the right side
- Click the arrow and, in the menu that opens, click Modify Style
- Change the ‘Cambria’ to ‘Times New Roman’
- Change the ’10 pt paragraph’ by clicking on the icon that has two arrows facing each others
- Check the ‘Add to Template’ box towards the bottom of the box
- Click OK.
